Phillips Murrah's Paying It Forward amplifies the message of one non-profit organization each month, all year long.

Since December of 2020, Phillips Murrah has partnered with National Public Radio (NPR) to sponsor broadcast announcements each month that shine a light on a selected non-profit organization. Our aim is to amplify each beneficiary organizations’ needs and goals. Paying it Forward seeks to enhance each beneficiary’s capacity to deliver service to the community by helping increase awareness, assist in fundraising support, and drive volunteer/membership quality and quantity. The reach of Phillips Murrah’s Paying It Forward program is market-wide in Oklahoma City through partnering with our two major NPR stations, KGOU and KOSU.

Our Paying it Forward beneficiary in October 2025 is the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma. #PIFOKC

Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma

Since the 1980s, October has been recognized as National Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a period dedicated to celebrating the unique abilities of individuals with Down syndrome and increasing awareness about the condition.

This October, Phillips Murrah is proud to support the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma (DSACO). DSACO aims to provide resources, promote acceptance, and foster inclusion for people with Down syndrome and their families. Their vision is to help create communities where everyone is valued, empowered, and encouraged to define their own path to success.

Through family-focused events, educational workshops, and community initiatives, such as the Down Syndrome Festival & 5K, New Parent Visits, Elementary Adventure Club, DSACO Club, and the Bountiful Blessings Calendar, DSACO turns this vision into reality. They also host the podcast DSACO: Up for Discussion, which provides a space for conversation and connection for those eager to learn more.
