Phillips Murrah's Paying It Forward amplifies the message of one non-profit organization each month, all year long.

In Dec. 2020, Phillips Murrah partnered with Oklahoma NPR radio station KGOU to sponsor broadcast announcements each month that shine a light on a selected non-profit organization. Our aim is to amplify each beneficiary organizations’ needs and goals, and to help increase awareness, drive volunteer quality and quantity, assist in fundraising support, and improve capacity to deliver service to the community.

Our Paying it Forward beneficiary in March 2025 is the Twin Cedars. #PIFOKC

Twin Cedars

March’s Pay It Forward beneficiary is Twin Cedars, a sanctuary that has welcomed individuals of all ages, identities, and abilities for over six decades. Established in 1955 as the Central Oklahoma Christian Camp on a modest 40-acre plot, it has flourished into a sprawling 300-acre campground, serving thousands annually.

Twin Cedars’ mission is to enrich lives through inclusive outdoor experiences. They offer a variety of programs designed to cater to diverse communities:

  • Make Promises Happen: This program provides outdoor recreational opportunities for individuals aged six and above with physical or intellectual disabilities, empowering them to engage in traditional camp activities.

  • Camp Prism: An overnight camp specifically for LGBTQ+ youth aged 13 to 17, fostering an accepting community that connects participants to the outdoors and each other.

  • Camp Sunrise: A weekend retreat tailored for adults aged 18 and older who have experienced traumatic brain injuries, offering a supportive environment for recreational activities and personal growth.

  • No Limits Neuromuscular Camp: A week-long summer program designed for young adults and adults living with neuromuscular diseases, providing accessible activities that promote personal development and community connection.

In addition to their signature programs, Twin Cedars collaborates with various organizations, offering their expansive facilities for camps, retreats, and events. This partnership approach fosters a community where everyone can experience the outdoors without limitations.
