Phillips Murrah's Paying It Forward amplifies the message of one non-profit organization each month, all year long.
Since December of 2020, Phillips Murrah has partnered with Oklahoma NPR radio station KGOU to sponsor broadcast announcements each month that shine a light on a selected non-profit organization. Our aim is to amplify each beneficiary organizations’ needs and goals, and to help increase awareness, drive volunteer quality and quantity, assist in fundraising support, and improve capacity to deliver service to the community. In December 2022, Phillips Murrah is expanding the reach of our Paying it Forward partnership to include NPR’s other OKC radio station, KOSU.
Our Paying it Forward beneficiary in January 2023 is Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City. #PIFOKC
Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City
Phillips Murrah is proud to support the Urban League of Oklahoma City, enabling African Americans and other underserved urban residents to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights. Since 1946, the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City has been implementing its mission through programs and services in four focus areas: jobs, education, housing, and social justice.
The Urban League’s Workforce and Career Development (WFCD) Program provides resources for the underemployed and individuals with barriers to employment, including the Urban Young Adult Reentry Program (UYRP) and the After Prison Work Initiative (APWI).
In FY 2019, UL helped 1,877 clients find employment through this program.
Coming in 2023, Urban League will open its HERE@UrbanLeague business center to help minority supplier businesses to obtain certifications, contracts, loans and more. For help, see contact buttons below.
