Since 2020, Phillips Murrah's Paying It Forward initiative has helped amplify the message of one Oklahoma City non-profit organization each month, all year long.
In December of 2020, Phillips Murrah partnered with Oklahoma NPR radio station KGOU to sponsor 30+ monthly radio announcements that help shine a spotlight on selected non-profit organizations. Our aim is to amplify each beneficiary organizations’ needs and goals, and to help increase awareness, drive volunteer interest, assist in fundraising support, and improve capacity to deliver service to the community.

Tenaciously Teal
Tenaciously Teal is a remarkable organization that brings hope and comfort to cancer patients across Oklahoma. Founded by Tarah Warren, who turned her own battle with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer into a mission of love and support, Tenaciously Teal delivers more than just physical necessities; it offers emotional encouragement to those in the fight of their lives.
Through monthly Cancer Care Packs, which are thoughtfully curated with essential items, and the provision of gas and meal cards, Tenaciously Teal ensures that patients feel supported during their treatment journeys. The organization’s efforts go beyond these practical aids with initiatives like Brave Shave and Empowerment shoots, which celebrate the strength and courage of cancer fighters, providing them with moments of joy and dignity.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, a critical time for organizations like Tenaciously Teal to amplify their mission. During this month, the importance of the teal ribbon is highlighted even more, as it symbolizes the fight against Ovarian Cancer. Tenaciously Teal intensifies its efforts in September, spreading awareness and encouraging women to seek early diagnosis and care.
In addition to their direct support efforts, Tenaciously Teal is committed to raising awareness about Ovarian Cancer throughout the year.
