Phillips Murrah's Paying It Forward amplifies the message of one non-profit organization each month, all year long
Since December of 2020, Phillips Murrah has partnered with Oklahoma NPR radio station KGOU to sponsor broadcast announcements each month that shine a light on a selected non-profit organization. Our aim is to amplify each beneficiary organizations’ needs and goals, and to help increase awareness, drive volunteer quality and quantity, assist in fundraising support, and improve capacity to deliver service to the community.

Palomar, Oklahoma City's Justice Center
Palomar’s mission is to create a strong and healing community that prioritizes victims and survivors in Oklahoma City, offering a caring and supportive environment to help them through the healing process along with their children.
Palomar collaborates with other community agencies to provide comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, stalking, elder abuse, and human trafficking. As a Family Justice Center, they work closely with partner organizations, many of whom have offices in their building, to achieve their mission.
Recently, Phillips Murrah Director Eric Davis and Phillips Murrah’s 2023 Diversity Fellowship Program members visited Palomar and were given a tour of the facility. They saw some onsite services, including pro bono legal services, provided to survivors through Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and the Palomar Legal Network.
Palomar’s mission can be supported through various ways, such as joining Voices OKC, a survivor-led advocacy group, or a secondary survivor group that meets monthly. A newly launched Teen Board also educates teens about Palomar’s mission and empowers them to give voice to that age group. Additionally, Palomar offers an evidence-based camp for children who have witnessed violence, called Camp HOPE.
