Phillips Murrah Director Nikki Edwards elected to Oklahoma County Bar Association Board of Directors

Congratulations to Phillips Murrah Director Nicholle Jones Edwards for being elected by the Oklahoma County Bar Association members to serve on the OCBA Board of Directors. Nikki will be sworn in for a 3-year term on September 1, 2024, along with other new Board members, Jack Bomhoff, Zoe Butts, Jordyn Cartmell, Judge Jason Glidewell, and Nicole Jones.

Nicholle Jones Edwards’ law practice focuses on all areas of family law, with a concentration on high-net-worth cases. Ms. Edwards handles matters involving business valuation, complex property, and high-income support issues. She also conducts mediation and handles appellate matters.

“As an experienced attorney, I’m excited to give back to the Oklahoma County Bar Association, which provides so many services and opportunities for our membership,” Nikki said. “I have a heart for service, and serving on the Board of Directors is my opportunity to give back to the OCBA membership.”

Nikki is a Member and Past Co-Chair of OCBA’s Family Law Section and a member of their Fee Grievance Committee. She is also Past Co-Chair of OCBA’s Community Service Committee. Nikki’s other bar-related activities include the Oklahoma Bar Association’s House of Delegates as a Delegate in 2008-2009 and an Alternate Delegate 2006-2007, as well as being an OBA Prior Fellow.

Outside of her bar involvement, Nikki has a rich history of staying fully engaged in the legal industry. She has recently been an Adjunct Professor at the Oklahoma City University School of Law and was a Distinguished Practitioner in Residence in 2020. She has also has participated in the Ruth Bader Ginsburg American Inn of Courts since 1999, for which she was recognized in 2024 with the Don Deason Award. The award recognizes recipients’ ability to consistently demonstrate civility, professionalism, friendliness, and unwavering participation in the Ruth Bader Ginsburg American Inn of Court, where she named Outstanding Master in 2013-2014 and again in 2022-2023, Outstanding Barrister in 2004-2005, and Outstanding Associate in 2002-2003.

In 2020, Nikki was honored with a Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award, which recognizes women who have distinguished themselves through leadership and mentorship in the legal profession. She was also honored twice with the Journal Record’s Leadership in Law award, in 2008 and 2017, awarded in conjunction with the annual celebration of Law Day. She was again honored by the Journal Record in 2017 by being named to their Woman of the Year’s Fifty Making A Difference list. Most recently, Nikki was named Best Divorce Lawyer in OKC for 2024 by Forbes Legal Advisor.

Nikki’s tireless efforts also extend into the community at large. She is a Board Member at Positive Tomorrows, Oklahoma’s only elementary school that serves children experiencing homelessness, where she has been actively involved for 27 years, including as Board Chair in 2020. She also serves on the Westminster School Board of Trustees and is a prior Board Member of the Oklahoma Single Parent Scholarship Program, Good Shepherd Ministries, University of Oklahoma Women & Gender Studies, and the Oklahoma City Ballet. Additionally, Nikki completed Leadership OKC’s Signature Program Class 36.
