“Phillips Murrah is so honored to be a part of HeartLine’s 24th Annual Festival of Hope,” said Phillips Murrah Director Byrona J. Maule. “Robert Sheets, our deceased Partner, served on HeartLine’s Board, and we are privileged to continue to support this organization in its message of hope.”
On Friday, Aug. 21, Phillips Murrah was proud to attend the Festival of Hope at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City. The evening featured an extraordinary keynote address by Amy Downs, a survivor, author, and speaker, whose story of resilience exemplifies what it means to embrace a second chance.
In 1995, Amy was among the last survivors rescued from the rubble of the Oklahoma City Bombing, a tragedy that took 168 lives, including 18 of her 33 colleagues at the Federal Employees Credit Union. Rather than be defined by that moment, Amy chose to redefine herself. She traded a sedentary lifestyle for the finish line of a full Ironman triathlon, earned her MBA after years of academic struggle, and ultimately became CEO of the very institution that was nearly destroyed on the day she nearly lost her own life.
Attorneys Byrona J. Maule, Christin Mugg, Jason A. Sansone, and Lauren S. Voth represented Phillips Murrah at the event.
For more than five decades, HeartLine has been a lifeline for Oklahomans in their most vulnerable moments. Founded in 1971 as CONTACT and renamed HeartLine in 2005, the organization has evolved into a comprehensive crisis support network that connects people with help, hope, and information around the clock.
HeartLine reaches more than 200,000 Oklahomans each year through its four primary helplines, the 211 Community Resource Line, 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Youth Crisis Mobile Response, and Disaster Distress Helpline, providing compassionate listening, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention services.
