Two teams from Phillips Murrah recently took part in the annual Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma fundraiser, Bowl for Kids’ Sake. On August 25, Andy B’s hosted Phillips Murrah and other local groups for an evening of bowling, fun, and community support.

The Firm’s Attorney Team, named Motion to Strike, consisted of Hilda Loury, Lacy Kelly, Nick Candido, and Justin Grose, joined by their guest, Matthew Fong. The Staff Team, named Spare Me, consisted of Erika Taylor, Curt Bauer, JaCar King, Lindsay Roberts, Sherree Williams, and Bill Taylor. Congratulations to the Staff Team, who took home the championship title on the night.

“Bowling for Kids was a tremendous success this year,” said Lindsay Roberts. “We were thrilled to walk away as the 2026 Bowling Champions! We look forward to participating every year and are grateful for the opportunity to help BBBS make a difference for the children in our community.”

“I am so proud of our PM Bowlers, and of Phillips Murrah, and its continued support of Big Brothers Big Sisters,” said Director Byrona Maule.

As the Firm’s BBBS fundraising lead, Byrona continues her dedicated service on the Governing Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters, now in her second term. Byrona previously served from 2012 to 2015, including as Chair from 2013 to 2015. Her journey with BBBS began in 1990 when she became a Big Sister to Vanessa, a mentorship that profoundly shaped her life. Since then, she has guided three Little Sisters through the program. Joining the Oklahoma City Area Resource Board in 2007, Byrona has received multiple awards for her commitment, including Big Sister of the Year in Oklahoma City (2009), Big Sister of the Year in Oklahoma (2009), and Champion of the Year in Oklahoma (2011). Alongside her husband, Marvin, she also earned the Big Couple Match award in 2013 for their match with Little Brother Quintin.

Big Brothers Big Sisters believes every child has incredible potential. As the nation’s largest supporter-driven mentoring network, BBBS creates meaningful, monitored relationships between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood, across Oklahoma. These connections promote lasting positive effects on young lives.
