On Tuesday, April 8, just before tip-off of the final game of the 2024-2025 Thunder regular season, four attorneys from the law firm of Phillips Murrah walked out to center court to present a donation check for $25,400 to the The Thunder Community Foundation.
The donation is the current-season total amount resulting from Phillips Murrah’s Blocks for Bucks corporate partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Phillips Murrah has now donated a total of $149,400 to benefit Thunder Cares in seven seasons of our Blocks for Bucks initiative. Presenting the check were OKC Thunder Vice President, Community Engagement & Executive Director, Thunder Community Foundation, Erin Oldfield and Phillips Murrah attorneys Colby D. Karcher, Hilda Loury, Stassi M. Vullo, and Max G. West.

The premise of Blocks for Bucks is simple: For each blocked shot that the Thunder forces at home games during the regular season, Phillips Murrah donates $100 to the Thunder Community Foundation. As the Thunder team racks up blocks throughout the season, video highlights are posted at the Blocks for Bucks page on the Thunder’s website, along with a blocks counter and a running donation amount tally.
In December of 2023, Blocks for Bucks celebrated the landmark total donation amount of $100,000. In the related article, Thunder Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Will Syring, said:
