His service on the OBA Board of Governors is a testament to his consistent involvement and leadership in the Oklahoma legal community, which spans nearly a decade. His leadership potential was recognized by the OBA in 2016, when he was selected as one of 22 emerging leaders for the Oklahoma Bar Association Leadership Academy. This program provided him with valuable training in leadership, communication, and motivation.

Cody’s journey of leadership within Oklahoma’s bar associations continued with his involvement in the Oklahoma County Bar Association’s (OCBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD), where he served on the Board of Directors for four years before becoming Chair in 2017. In this role, Cooper focused on engaging young members and spearheading community service projects, which led to further leadership roles within the OCBA. In 2018, he was elected to the OCBA Board of Directors, where he worked to increase membership engagement and take on a larger leadership role. He was subsequently elected in 2021 as OCBA Vice President. He then served as President of the Oklahoma County Bar Association in 2023. Cody currently serves as OCBA Treasurer.

He also received a 2024 Leadership in Law Award recognizing his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and the community. The award, presented by the OCBA and The Journal Record newspaper during the annual Law Day luncheon.

Cody’s legal practice encompasses a wide range of areas, including complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, cybersecurity, data privacy, and breach response. He is a licensed patent attorney with a background in science and engineering – diverse experience that brings a valuable perspective to the OBA Board of Governors.

Cody is also actively involved in several community and charitable organizations. He is a board member for CASA of Oklahoma County and has volunteered with Camp Cavett, NewView Oklahoma, and the Salvation Army.
