On Friday, Oct. 2, Phillips Murrah was honored to sponsor the 2026 Oklahoma Bar Association Women in Law Conference, held at the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City. The afternoon’s centerpiece was the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Awards Luncheon, a longstanding tradition that celebrates the achievements of women lawyers and judges who have made a lasting mark on Oklahoma’s legal profession.
Helen Wan, a media and intellectual property attorney, author, and educator, delivered this year’s keynote address. A graduate of Amherst College and the University of Virginia School of Law, Helen draws on her own experience as an Asian American woman navigating corporate legal culture to craft stories that resonate far beyond the courtroom. Her debut novel, The Partner Track, was adapted into a Netflix series and has been widely praised for its honest and nuanced portrayal of what it means to chase partnership while navigating identity, ambition, and belonging.
Directors Nikki J. Edwards and Byrona Maule, and attorneys Hilda Loury, Natalie McMahan, and Kelly Offutt represented Phillips Murrah at the event.
The Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award has recognized outstanding women in the Oklahoma legal community since 1996. Named in 1998 to honor Mona Salyer Lambird, the first woman to serve as president of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the award carries on a meaningful legacy in which past honorees select each new class of recipients. Phillips Murrah Director Nikki Edwards was among those honored in 2020.
You can find the 2026 Spotlight Award honorees here. The conference offers CLE credit, and more information is available on the Oklahoma Bar Association’s website.
