As Phillips Murrah celebrates 40 years of service, we’re highlighting the people whose work helped shape the firm along the way. In this 40 for 40 profile, we spotlight Bobby Dolatabadi and the perspective he brings to his role and to the firm’s culture.
Over the years, watching his clients succeed and knowing he played a small part in that success has meant the most to Bobby. Earning their confidence and trust as an advisor they lean on and listen to is, in his words, pretty special.
His defining moment dates back to the summer of 2007, during his summer clerkship at Phillips Murrah. At the time, Bobby knew very little about the transactional side of law, and most of his impressions came from courtroom dramas in movies and on TV. That summer, one of Phillips Murrah’s senior transactional partners called him into his office, where a live video feed showed an out-of-state construction project underway while the partner advised clients in real time. This was extremely cutting-edge for 2007. A large survey sheet spread across the office revealed even more detail about the project. That was the moment transactional law clicked for Bobby, and today he’s a real estate lawyer because of it.
Having watched the firm evolve, Bobby points to one thing that has never wavered: Phillips Murrah’s culture is second to none. It comes up often because it’s true and special, and it is what he refers to as the PM family. Teammates know each other, but also each other’s families and interests. Because of these relationships, they care for one another both professionally and personally.
