OKC Thunder and Phillips Murrah Kick Off Eighth Season of Turning Blocks into Donations

By October 21st, 2025No Comments

With the kick off of the 2025-2026 Regular Season, Phillips Murrah is proud to announce our eighth season of partnering with the Oklahoma City Thunder! Our Firm has enjoyed being part of the Thunder experience over the years through our Blocks for Bucks partnership, which directly benefits the Thunder Community Foundation. Through Blocks for Bucks, Phillips Murrah has been turning Thunder blocks into donations since 2017 – funds that are distributed directly back into the community. Since Blocks for Bucks started, Phillips Murrah has donated just under $150,000!

What is Blocks for Bucks?

It is no secret that attorneys and staff at Phillips Murrah are huge Thunder fans! To recognize our home team’s skill in blocking shots, Phillips Murrah donates $100 to the Thunder Community Foundation for each shot blocked by Thunder players at home games during the regular season. Fans can check the NBA’s Thunder community Blocks for Bucks page to see highlight videos of blocks and a block counter that keeps a running tally of blocks and an up-to-date, cumulative donation amount.

“The Thunder is committed to meaningful community engagement, and partners like Phillips Murrah continue to make it possible for us to fulfill that mission and make a difference in our communities across Oklahoma,” said Will Syring, OKC Thunder Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.

“As we launch into this season, we excited to support our reigning National Champions,” said Dave Rhea, Marketing Director at Phillips Murrah. “It is equally as important for our Firm to continue to fund our community through supporting the Thunder Community Foundation’s amazing philanthropic work, which fits perfectly with our commitment to the community. Thunder Up, Champions!”

The Thunder Community Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 organization and the official team charity of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The foundation’s mission is to positively influence youth in the communities where they live and play. Its initiatives include Thunder-themed basketball courts in parks, schools, and community centers across Oklahoma, as well as learning labs and activity rooms at organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma CountyCity Rescue Mission, and Positive Tomorrows.
