Phillips Murrah welcomes Leanne Oliver as a Director in the Firm’s Dallas law office. Leanne will primarily practice commercial litigation. She previously served for 29 years in various roles with PepsiCo, Inc.
“After working together for nearly 15 years and knowing firsthand of her legal expertise, we are excited to have Leanne join Phillips Murrah,” said Mark Golman, Director in charge of the Firm’s Dallas office. “Her ‘client first’ orientation aligns perfectly with the way Phillips Murrah approaches the practice of law.”
Leanne began her legal career after graduating from the University of Houston Law Center in 1994. She practiced with a law firm in Houston for two years before moving in-house for nearly three decades, initially continuing her focus on employment law. Her legal acumen, meticulous attention to detail, ability to assemble and lead teams, and capacity to work quickly and accurately on a wide variety of complex matters did not go unnoticed. Over the years, Leanne was promoted multiple times, ultimately serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Frito-Lay North America, and then Senior Vice President and General Counsel for PepsiCo Foods North America, a position she held for six years. In those roles, Leanne successfully defended her company against major class-action lawsuits, led strategic corporate acquisitions, and developed innovative employment policies and management training programs.
Additionally, Leanne earned a well-deserved reputation as a model leader among her peers and in the community. Her track record for fairness, thoughtful leadership, exemplary ethical standards, and empowerment of diverse populations led to a great deal of respect and admiration both within and outside the legal profession. Her work was recognized by multiple organizations, including a Lifetime Achievement Award from the DFW Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and The Texas Lawbook, acknowledgment as an Outstanding Legal Professional by GC Powerlist Texas, a Women in Business Award from the Dallas Business Journal, and a nomination for Outstanding General Counsel recognition by D CEO Magazine, as well as recognition as a Top 50 General Counsel by the Texas Diversity Council.
