Phillips Murrah is proud to partner with the Thunder Community Foundation for the seventh season. Through our Blocks for Bucks campaign, we have enjoyed being a part of Thunder experience, turning Thunder blocks into donations to The Thunder Community Foundation, which are distributed directly back into our community. Since Blocks for Bucks began in 2017, Phillips Murrah has donated over $124,000!

What is Blocks for Bucks?

It is no secret that attorneys and staff at Phillips Murrah are huge Thunder fans! To recognize our home team’s prowess in blocking shots, Phillips Murrah is donating $100 to the Thunder Community Foundation for each shot that Thunder players block at home games during the regular season. Fans can check here to see new blocks highlight videos and a blocks counter that keeps a tally of blocks and a to-date donation total. As of publication of this post, the 6-0 undefeated Thunder team have logged 18 home-game blocks for a total donation of $1,800!

“The Thunder is committed to meaningful community engagement, and partners like Phillips Murrah continue to make it possible for us to fulfill that mission and make a difference in our communities across Oklahoma.” – Will Syring, OKC Thunder Vice President of Corporate Partnerships.

The Thunder Community Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 organization and the official team charity of the Oklahoma City Thunder. The mission of the Thunder Community Foundation is to positively impact youth in the communities where they live and play. Initiatives include Thunder-themed basketball courts in parks, schools, and community centers across Oklahoma, as well as learning labs and activity rooms at organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma CountyCity Rescue Mission, and Positive Tomorrows.

“As we launch into this season, we are super excited about how well the Thunder team is playing!” said Dave Rhea, Marketing Director at Phillips Murrah. “Beyond the excitement on the hardwood, this campaign allows our Firm to help fund Thunder Community Foundation’ amazing philanthropic work, which fits perfectly with our commitment to the community. We love supporting the Thunder!”
