Stephanie Rose Castillo, a student at The University of Oklahoma, was awarded Phillips Murrah’s annual Shannon K. Emmons Memorial Scholarship. Phillips Murrah has participated in the Latino Community Development Agency scholarship program for three years.

“For me, the scholarship means financial freedom, the ability to choose my path, and a stable future,” said Stephanie Castillo. “I also want to give back to the community and my family. I’ve seen them work so hard for me throughout my entire life, so I definitely keep doing this for them. They are my motivation. I just hope to give back to those that I’ve received through my education.”

Stephanie is a Junior at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in Civil Engineering. She is also a part of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Latinos Without Borders, and the Xi Beta Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority at the University of Oklahoma.
