Phillips Murrah proudly sponsored the 2023 Women in Law conference, hosted by the Oklahoma Bar Association on Friday, Sept. 22. The event featured the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Awards Luncheon, where leading women lawyers and judges from across the state are annually recognized. This is the 27th year of award presentations.
During the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Awards Luncheon this year, the keynote speaker was New York Times bestselling author and lawyer, Chandler Baker. In attendance were some of Phillips Murrah’s own Women in Law: Camille N. Burge, Jonna Vanderslice, Nikki J. Edwards, Hilda Loury, and Byrona J. Maule.
Since 1996, the Spotlight Awards recognize five women each year who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession and have lit the way for other women. In 1998, the award was named to honor the late Mona Salyer Lambird, the first woman OBA president and one of the award’s first recipients. The OBA Women in Law Section sponsors the award, and all previous winners nominate and select the current year’s recipients each year.
In 2020, PM Director Nikki Edwards received a the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award.
