Phillips Murrah congratulates Director Elizabeth K. Brown on her appointment to the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB) board of directors.
“The unique mission of the OERB speaks volumes about the oil and natural gas industry’s commitment to making a positive impact in Oklahoma, through both its environmental restoration programs and its energy education initiatives,” Liz said. “I am especially impressed with the OERB outreach programs which encourage education of students in STEM fields. The cultivation of young minds in these areas is vital to the future of our industry. I look forward to being a part of this great work.”
Liz is a shareholder at Phillips Murrah, where she has practiced for most of her legal career. She is primarily a tax and transactional lawyer with a special emphasis in the energy industry. A significant part of her practice involves representing privately owned businesses, often serving in the role of outside counsel to her clients, where she assists them in handling and managing the many legal issues faced by private companies.
“We are thrilled to have Liz on our board,” said OERB Executive Director Mindy Stitt. “She will bring a wealth of talent and experience, and we look forward to her input as we continue our mission to support education and clean historic well sites.”
Liz also serves as General Counsel to The Gloria Corporation, a privately held oil and gas exploration and production company founded by her father and based in Ada, Okla. Additionally, she is a member of the board of directors of the Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma and is involved in its advocacy efforts for the oil and natural gas industry. Also, is a member of the board of directors of the National Stripper Well Association.
