“I have been active and proudly invested in the Lynn Institute for many years,” Marc said. “From its beginnings in clinical sleep research to today’s involvement as a leading clinical research organization in community health and wellness, a vision of its namesake, Dr. Tom Lynn.”

The Legacy Luncheon keynote speaker was Emeka Nnaka. Emeka is a therapist, speaker, and advocate for hope which helps organizations cultivate the power of hope to navigate times of stress and struggle.

The Lynn Institute was developed by partnering with the Integris Baptist Medical Center Research Department in Oklahoma City. In 1997, the Lynn Institute separated from Integris Baptist Medical Center. It established the Lynn Institute for Healthcare Research Inc. (LIHR), an independent, non-profit entity.

The non-profit focused on basic medical research and sleep studies for many years. In 2012, LIHR transitioned to a new mission and began focusing on community health research.

The Lynn Institute for Healthcare Research, a 501(c)(3), now focuses on developing Lynn Healthy Community plans for neighborhoods, special groups, and disease-specific situations.
