Phillips Murrah Presents: Paying It Forward

Amplifying the message of one non-profit each month for a year

[Paying It Forward] Starting in December, Phillips Murrah is partnering with Oklahoma NPR radio station KGOU to sponsor broadcast announcements that shine a light on a selected non-profit organization each month. Our aim is to amplify each beneficiary organizations’ needs and goals, and to help increase awareness, drive volunteer quality and quantity, assist in fundraising support, and improve capacity to deliver service to the community.

Our beneficiary in January is Positive Tomorrows, an organization that is critical to the wellbeing of our community. The need to address homelessness in our community, especially related to children and education, is of paramount importance. #PIFOKC

Positive Tomorrows’ mission is to partner with homeless families to educate their children and create pathways to success. As the only private school in America devoted solely to educating homeless children, Positive Tomorrows is leading the charge in developing a comprehensive educational system built to bring students up to grade level, academically and socially, so they can successfully rejoin the public school system.

Their work focuses on three areas: reducing barriers, supporting families and providing a robust education. Those three objectives lead to students who are equipped and empowered to break inter-generational cycles of poverty and homelessness.
