Collective Actions

Phillips Murrah has also represented a number of employers in dozens of collective actions, which is another type of multi-plaintiff suit related to alleged violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA), which may be brought in either state or federal court. The FLSA collective action procedure allows employees who are “similarly situated” to be a part of a lawsuit and seek damages on any of the grounds available for individual FLSA relief. Collective action cases are similar in virtually every substantive respect to class actions.
