Biography
Sayuri Shimoda is an Of Counsel attorney in the Dallas office of Phillips Murrah, joining the firm in July 2026. Sayuri brings a highly versatile and international legal background to the Firm, focusing her practice on complex commercial litigation. Prior to joining Phillips Murrah, Sayuri served as Of Counsel at a highly regarded Dallas boutique law firm. She also practiced as an Associate at two prominent international law firms in Dallas and New York City.
Sayuri earned her Doctor of Law (J.D.), cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law in 2015. While at Fordham, she served as an Associate Editor for the Fordham Urban Law Journal, participated in the Federal Litigation Clinic, and worked as a Teaching Assistant for the LL.M. Legal Writing Program. Her leadership and dedication to public service were recognized with the Public Service Student Leadership Award, the Fordham Legal Writing Award, and the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award (magna cum laude). She completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University in 2010, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics-Political Science and East Asian Studies.
