Biography

Amelia Marquis is a commercial litigator who represents clients involved in complex business disputes and operational disruptions in Texas and Oklahoma. Her practice covers a wide range of industries, including aerospace, oil and gas, real estate, insurance, entertainment, and cannabis. Amelia’s clients value her ability to craft strategic and proactive legal solutions that safeguard their interests and set them up for long-term success.

Amelia’s practice specializes in business torts, including disputes over limited liability company membership and partnership disputes, contractual claims, and first-party insurance defense. She assists clients facing both internal and external business issues, offering counsel aimed at reducing risk and avoiding escalation. Amelia is proficient in litigation and motion practice, using strategic filings and advocacy to achieve favorable results, whether through negotiations, arbitration, or trial.

With experience on trial and arbitration teams in federal court and before various arbitral tribunals, Amelia manages every aspect of case preparation, including witness training, pre- and post-trial motions, and cross-examining adverse witnesses. A highly regarded graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, she served as an Articles Editor for the American Indian Law Review. She received the ‘Outstanding Comment’ award for her published work on First Amendment issues. In law school, she gained valuable experience working with all three branches of the federal government, including roles with the United States House Committee on Agriculture, the U.S. Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser, and the Honorable Judge Stephen P. Friot in the Western District of Oklahoma.

Amelia, an Oklahoma native, was born and raised in Seminole and now resides in Oklahoma City with her husband and son after spending seven years in Dallas. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time at her family’s cattle ranch in Seminole and exploring Oklahoma City’s many museums with her son.
