As Phillips Murrah celebrates 40 years of service, we’re highlighting the people whose work has helped shape the firm along the way. In this 40 for 40 profile, we spotlight Janet Hendrick and the perspective she brings to her role and to the firm’s culture.
Janet chose Phillips Murrah for a reason that has defined the firm for decades: its strong representation of women as shareholders and in leadership roles. It was a signal then, and it remains a point of pride today. Her dedication to that mission extends beyond the firm, as she played a key role in establishing the firm’s ongoing membership in the National Association of Women Lawyers.
In her current role, Janet specializes in employment law and finds the most fulfillment in helping clients handle everyday employment issues and avoid litigation altogether. The best outcome, as she sees it, is the one that never reaches a courtroom.
That said, when she must be in a courtroom, Janet is prepared. A key moment in her career was winning her first trial, an experience that boosted her confidence and shaped her approach to law, an experience that has stayed with her ever since.
