As Phillips Murrah celebrates 40 years of service, we’re highlighting the people whose work has helped shape the firm along the way. In this 40 for 40 Profile, we spotlight Clay Ketter and the perspective he brings to his role and to the firm’s culture.
At its core, Clay views practicing law as helping people solve problems. It provides the chance to work with individuals through some of the most difficult times in their lives or businesses. The ability to navigate complex issues and find workable solutions is, in his words, exciting and fulfilling.
What Clay values most about Phillips Murrah is its people. There is a rare and strong sense of collegiality here that isn’t often seen in law firms. Although everyone at Phillips Murrah is competitive and driven, there is an atmosphere of genuine support rather than internal rivalry. As the firm continues to grow, he believes keeping that balance and safeguarding that culture will be crucial to its success over the next 40 years.
Outside of work, Clay loves to travel and always tries to have a trip planned and something to look forward to. Seeing the world, experiencing other cultures, and spending quality time with his family energize him and help him maintain perspective and balance.
