Phillips Murrah has fully supported Cathy in developing a practice that satisfies her intellectual curiosity. Almost every day, she has the privilege of working on interesting, complex, and impactful issues across different areas of law. As she puts it, she gets paid to “geek out”.
What Cathy values most about Phillips Murrah is that, even as the firm has grown over the years, it’s always been a place that helps you reach your goals. Throughout her years here, she has continuously been surrounded by smart, capable, and kind people that she genuinely likes and trusts. She says work would be unbearable if you didn’t like the people you work with. That quality has remained one of the firm’s most consistent strengths over the past 40 years.
Outside of work, everyone knows Cathy’s favorite hobby is traveling. It has helped her stay sane in a very stressful job, and she’s quick to say it’s no cliché that travel broadens your perspective. Seeing how others live and think is invaluable. Travel fosters tolerance, and this outlook helps her maintain perspective and balance.
