As Phillips Murrah celebrates 40 years of service, we highlight the people whose work has helped shape our firm along the way. In this 40 for 40 profile, we spotlight Tom Wolfe and the perspective he brings to his role and the firm’s culture.
Tom joined Phillips Murrah after a career path that, by his own account, was driven by a series of incredibly lucky breaks at every turn. His father was an attorney, and Tom always knew that was his chosen path. He began at a large OKC firm, Andrews Davis, before two partners left and took him with them to form Murrah and Davis. That firm merged with what was then Phillips McFall in 1991, and the rest is history. At every step, he found himself in a position to work with a talented, professional group of people he genuinely enjoys being around.
What Tom values most about Phillips Murrah is the professionalism and loyalty of the attorneys to the firm, clients, and each other – a quality he believes has remained consistent throughout the firm’s history and has been key to its success over the past 40 years.
Outside of work, Tom stays grounded through family, sports, and friends. He’s quick to offer a word of wisdom on the subject from the movie “The Shining.” “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” These pursuits help Tom keep perspective and balance in his life.
