Phillips Murrah proudly sponsored the 2025 Women in Law conference, hosted by the Oklahoma Bar Association on Friday, Sept. 19. The event featured the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Awards Luncheon, where leading women lawyers and judges from across the state are annually recognized. For this 29th annual award presentation, Phillips Murrah Director Nikki Edwards and Attorney Daisy Borders served as this year’s Sponsorship Chairs of the Women in Law Committee.
At this year’s luncheon, the keynote speaker was DG Smalling. DG is best known for his unique one-line drawing technique, where his pen never leaves the paper until the image is done. He is a citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and integrates his heritage into his minimalistic artistic style.
In attendance were some of Phillips Murrah’s own Women in Law: Phoebe M. Barber, Daisy S. Borders, Camille N. Burge, Nikki J. Edwards, Lacy C. Kelly, Hilda Loury, and Kathy D. Terry. At the networking afterparty, attorney Hilda Loury won the William and Lauren Suit Giveaway.

Established in 1996, the Spotlight Awards shine a light on five women each year whose achievements have advanced the legal profession and inspired those around them. In 1998, the honor was renamed to commemorate Mona Salyer Lambird, the first woman to serve as president of the Oklahoma Bar Association and one of the award’s first recipients. Presented by the OBA Women in Law Section, the award continues its legacy as past honorees select new recipients annually, fostering a tradition of recognition and mentorship.
In 2020, PM Director Nikki Edwards received the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award.

The conference offers participants CLE credit and is hosted at Civic Center Music Hall. More information about the conference is available on the Oklahoma Bar Association’s website.
