Phillips Murrah is pleased to acknowledge the February 25th decision of the United States Supreme Court to vacate the murder conviction and death penalty of Richard Glossip. A group of Phillips Murrah attorneys and legal staff assisted attorney Don Knight, of Denver Colorado, who was lead counsel for the national Glossip legal team.
The Supreme Court found that Glossip’s constitutional right to a fair trial was violated in a case that produced a rare alliance of his lawyers, the state’s Republican Attorney General and several conservative Oklahoma Legislators in support of overturning the conviction, according to the Associated Press.
Mr. Glossip had been on Oklahoma death row for 25 years, was scheduled for execution nine times and was served his “last meal” three times.
