Phillips Murrah proudly welcomes Max G. West to the law firm’s Oklahoma City offices. Max is a litigation attorney with experience representing individuals, corporations, and municipalities in various civil litigation matters. His practice includes first—and third-party insurance defense, breach of contract, insurance bad faith, property loss, and complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. Max has also successfully represented plaintiffs in civil litigation involving business disputes, personal injuries, medical malpractice, and civil rights violations under Section 1983.
Max G. West attended Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he earned distinction as a Hatton W. Sumners Foundation Scholar and was named to the Dean’s List and the Order of Barristers. He was an active student member of the William J. Holloway Inn of Court and represented his school on the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Team.
Before law school, Max graduated from Rogers State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy. At RSU, he was a member of the Honors Program and received several awards, including Most Outstanding Honors Junior in 2017, the President’s Cup in 2017, and Distinguished Honors Capstone in 2018.
Max was born and raised by a family of public school teachers in a small town outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. This background instilled in him a strong work ethic, a deep sense of civic responsibility, and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to clients, judges, and juries alike.
Max currently resides in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his wife, Leilah West, who is also an attorney. Max enjoys golfing, traveling, cheering for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and spending time with his family in his free time.
