Congratulations to Natalie for being recognized as a “Power List” Young Legal Professional!

NATALIE M. MCMAHAN – ATTORNEY PHILLIPS MURRAH P.C.

After serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy, Natalie M. McMahan went to law school because it gave her the chance to have a meaningful career in Oklahoma, her home state.

“I care deeply about our state, and I hope to use my education and career to make a positive impact,” McMahan said. “I have really enjoyed working with clients operating in Oklahoma’s political and legislative landscape. It is a privilege to work with those shaping the narrative of our communities and our state.”

McMahan is a litigation attorney at Phillips Murrah P.C. She represents individuals and both privately held and public companies in a wide range of civil litigation matters, including financial institutions, insurance defense, and employment. McMahan has represented clients through all stages of litigation in state and federal courts.

Natalie earned her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she earned the American Jurisprudence Award for Professional Responsibility, Litigation Skills and the Criminal Defense Clinic. She served as the staff editor on the Oklahoma Law Review and was on the Dean’s Honor Roll.

She is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the Oklahoma County Bar Association and has served as a member of its Young Lawyers Division board of directors. Phillips Murrah named McMahan to its 2022 and 2023 lists of “Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch.”

McMahan said she enjoys working with her clients and her area of law.

“The highest mark of success is being trusted to tackle novel issues with big implications,” McMahan said. “The best part of practicing law is solving hard problems. A client’s legal issues do not exist in a vacuum – sorting through the legal issues while also considering personal or business implications is a meaningful challenge. While most think of litigators as advocates in court, I enjoy the opportunity to work with and advise clients before issues become the subject of a lawsuit. The role of counselor is equally important to the role of advocate.”

She also noted her mentor and role model is Kathy Terry, one of Phillips Murrah’s Directors. McMahan said Terry is an exceptional litigator who prioritizes relationships.

“With Kathy’s success, she lifts those around her. This success is best reflected by the trust and loyalty of her colleagues and clients. I am thankful to be in her orbit and learn from her example,” McMahan said.
