For the fifth season, Thunder blocks help on and off the court! The law firm of Phillips Murrah, through our Blocks for Bucks corporate partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder, donated $100 to the Thunder Cares Foundation for every shot blocked by the Thunder at home games during the 2022-23 regular season. You can view this season’s tally on the OKC Thunder website on our Blocks for Bucks page.

Since the inception of the Blocks for Bucks program, Phillips Murrah has donated over $94,000 to Thunder Cares!

Now that the Oklahoma City Thunder 2022-2023 season has concluded, Phillips Murrah has tallied up all the amazing home-game blocks and made our annual donation to the Thunder Cares Foundation on April 9. With a total of 175 for the season, the final Phillips Murrah Blocks For Bucks total is $17,500!

Note: The check pictured below was presented prior to the game, and two blocks occurred during that night’s game, thus the total is $17,500.

What is Blocks for Bucks?

Attorneys and staff at Phillips Murrah are huge Thunder fans, and to recognize our home team’s accomplishments in blocking shots, the Firm is donating $100 to Thunder Cares for each blocked shot that the Thunder forces at home games during the regular season.

Phillips Murrah initiated our Blocks for Bucks partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder organization in Nov. 2017. Helping to improve the community is at the heart of of our Firm’s mission, and we are achieving that by funding the Thunder Cares Foundation through this exciting and entertaining campaign.

“Our partnership with the Oklahoma City Thunder over five seasons has been as exciting as it has been helpful to our community,” said Dave Rhea, Marketing Director at Phillips Murrah. “The Thunder organization has done so much in Oklahoma, and we’re glad to join in their efforts.”

As the Thunder team racked up blocks throughout the season, video highlights are posted at the Blocks for Bucks page on the Thunder’s website, along with a blocks counter and a running donation amount tally.
