If it’s spring, that means it’s time for the Taste of OKC, the marquee fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma. This year, Phillips Murrah served as Chef De Partie sponsor for the 2023 Taste of OKC, held at the Oklahoma City Convention Center. The night was filled with great food from top restaurants in Oklahoma, a silent auction, and then capped off with great music.

Bow for Kids' SakeWith over 200 attendees and over 30 restaurants that participated at the event, it raised over $130,000 for the organization.

Within those over 200 guests were a few members of Phillips Murrah, Attorney Camille N. Burge, Director Mel McVay, and Director Byrona J. Maule.

“Every year, the Taste of OKC gets better and better – in fact, I think it was the best food they have ever had,” said Byrona J. Maule, Phillips Murrah Director and Member of the Governing Board (statewide) of BBBSOK. “There were so many restaurants there that I was not able to not make it all the way around the event.”

“I’ve been involved with BBBS for over 25 years, and I’ve had four matches that spanned that time,” Maule continued. “The time I have spent with my Littles has been the most rewarding and challenging times in my life.

“I’ve helped these Littles learn their multiplication tables, write essays, develop artistic and musical talents, and experience things for the first time like an OU football game, a Thunder basketball game, flying, and so many other firsts.  There is no way to put a value on this time, because the time you spend with your Little is invaluable.”

On July 25th, BBBSOK will have another event named OKC Bowl For Kids’ Sake 2023, that Phillips Murrah will be apart of. Click the photo to learn more about the Firm’s support of OKC Bowl For Kids’ Sake and of the BBBSOK organization.
