Phillips Murrah’s rowing team “Law & Oarder” will return to the Stars & Stripes River Festival on June 25 to compete. The festival will mark the seventh year the team has competed since 2014.
“I love the enthusiasm and team spirit we have this season,” said Deena Baker, team captain. “It’s a lot of hard work but fun at the same time. Can’t wait to see what our official race time will be at the regatta!”
This summer’s race will be held during the Stars & Stripes River Festival June 25 at the OKC Boathouse District, and the team will compete in the 500-meter race against other corporate teams.
“My favorite experience so far has honestly been when practice goes smooth and we’re all synced up,” said Trevor Dawson-Shields, a new member on the team. “That feeling when it’s all running like a well-oiled machine is just incredible. There’s a unique bliss you feel when you’re gliding on the water that nothing else I’ve felt to date could match!”
Corporate Rowing League Championships start at 5 PM, and the event is free to the public.
