Director Alison J. Cross will present for banking counsel at a unique, joint conference Sept. 17-18 hosted by Texas Bankers Association’s Bankers Legal Conference and Southwest Association of Bank Counsel.

The conference, which will be broadcast online for the first time due to COVID-19, is organized by and for attorneys and will aide participants in identifying and managing a variety of issues in fair lending, cybersecurity, employment law, and other timely topics.
Cross’s presentation is titled “A Tale of Two Titles: Avoiding the Pitfalls of Leasehold Lending.”
“My presentation covers issues that come up when a bank makes a loan secured by a borrower’s interest in a ground lease,” Cross said. “The main takeaways are to plan for the best by getting the right diligence but prepare for the worst by getting the right protections.”
