In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Phillips Murrah’s Dallas office celebrated its 4th Annual Service Day by continuing our partnership with Jubilee Park Community Center. For the fourth consecutive year, our Dallas team came together to support the center’s mission of serving families in the Jubilee Park neighborhood in South Dallas.

Volunteers unloaded a food bank delivery and stocked Jubilee Park’s food pantry shelves, helping ensure neighbors in need have access to essential groceries. In addition to volunteering, PM Dallas was proud to donate $1,000 to support Jubilee Park’s ongoing efforts to serve the community.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to give back, strengthen our community connections, and continue this meaningful tradition of service,” said Director Michele Spillman.

Founded in 1997 through an initiative led by Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, Jubilee Park and Community Center was established in partnership with community residents and organizations including AmeriCorps, Habitat for Humanity, and Greater Dallas Community of Churches. The organization was created to revitalize a 62-block neighborhood in Southeast Dallas with the city’s highest crime rate and limited access to essential resources, following years of economic decline brought on by the closure of a Ford plant and the construction of I-30.

Nearly 30 years later, Jubilee Park has grown into a comprehensive community center serving more than 4,500 neighbors annually. Through programming focused on education, housing, health, safety, and opportunity, the organization continues to address the Social Determinants of Health and serve as a vibrant hub for community-led transformation, guided by the needs and dreams of the residents it serves.

Jubilee Park and Community Center’s mission is to catalyze comprehensive community revitalization and enrichment in Southeast Dallas. The center offers programs for neighbors of all ages, including afterschool and summer programming for youth, ESL classes, workforce support, and cooking and fitness classes for adults, and meals, arts and crafts, and social activities for seniors.
