To commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, Phillips Murrah made a donation to the Ralph Ellison Foundation. This contribution honors the legacies of Dr. King and Oklahoma City’s Native Son, Ralph Waldo Ellison, both of whom worked to affect positive change.
Our Firm’s donation is to support a new art installation in the Deep Deuce District of Oklahoma City dedicated to honoring Ellison’s legacy.

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Ellison initially pursued a career in music before turning to literature. A recipient of the National Book Award, Ellison is celebrated as a towering figure in American literature.
The Ralph Ellison Foundation, founded in 2014, seeks to extend Ellison’s legacy to a new generation. The Foundation is committed to emphasizing the accomplishments of the acclaimed author and empowering the lives of others through his legacy in the areas of literacy, music, and the arts.
