Attorney Lauren S. Voth has been accepted into Leadership Oklahoma City’s next Signature Class.

Attorney Lauren Symcox Voth

“Usually, the Signature LOKC program is a 10-month program with classes each month that focus on different community issues,” Voth said. “This year will be a little different and LOKC Class 39’s start date will be deferred to Fall 2021, however, we will have virtual meetings and get to attend alumni events throughout this year.”

The Signature Program is comprised of a two-day opening retreat and one-day-a-month programs for accepted individuals familiar with volunteer programs to network and increase their impact on their organizations and their community. Applicants are typically senior executives, business owners, and high-level directors and managers across industries and business types regionally.

“I am excited that we are in this unique position to spend a year getting to know one another and then another year learning and exploring Oklahoma City’s community issues, diversity, and resources,” Voth said.

Kendra Norman Web

Kendra M. Norman represents individuals and businesses in a broad range of transactional matters.

Leadership Oklahoma City recently selected members for Linking OKC’s Young Adult Leaders’ (LOYAL) 2019-20 class, and Phillips Murrah attorney Kendra M. Norman made the cut.

“I see my role in LOYAL as a community member and community leader who wants to experience personal growth with respect to leadership skills as well as further develop skills to improve the community,” Norman said. “I’m so excited to make new contacts and learn from others in different areas and professions as well.”

The LOYAL Program runs from September through April and focuses on enhancing personal leadership skills and cultivating community leadership skills by giving participants unique opportunities to learn leadership skills from Oklahoma’s most influential and accomplished business people, public servants, and non-profit managers.

“When you become an attorney, you join the legal profession and view yourself as an attorney, not just at work, but all the time,” Norman said. “No matter if you’re at work or at home, you are always an attorney and it’s a persona that you take on for life.

“But I’m so much more than just an attorney. I wanted to join the LOYAL program to help me make an impact on the community outside of this profession. I’m a leader in the Oklahoma City community and volunteer in several capacities, so I wanted to further develop those skills so that I can help improve the community and be a better leader and board member.”

Norman is a transactional attorney who represents clients in a broad range of matters in the areas of Mergers and Acquisitions, Real Estate Law, Tax Law, Clean Energy Law, and Private Wealth, Estate Planning and Business Succession.

Monica Y. Ybarra

Every year, approximately two hundred of Oklahoma City’s rising stars vie for a chance to be a member of Leadership Oklahoma City’s Linking OKC’s Young Adult Leaders (LOYAL) Program.

Phillips Murrah Attorney Monica Y. Ybarra was selected to participate in this prestigious program as a member of LOYAL Class XII. The Firm is pleased to announce Ybarra graduated from the program last week and is officially part of the Leadership Oklahoma City family.

The LOYAL Program focuses on enhancing personal leadership skills and cultivating community leadership skills. During the seven-month program, participants have unique opportunities to learn leadership skills from Oklahoma’s most influential and accomplished business people, public servants, and non-profit managers.

“Participating in LOYAL has been one of my most rewarding Oklahoma experiences,” Ybarra said. “The program offered me a chance to increase my leadership intelligence and connect to the community in so many ways.

“This program is about so much more than networking—it’s about helping motivated individuals become the leaders of tomorrow.”

Participants gain insight into topics such as board skills, human resources, public speaking, non-profit finances, ethics, and much more. Additionally, Leadership Action Projects afford participants an opportunity to apply their skills and talents to tackle substantive issues in our community.

“At Phillips Murrah P.C. we take pride in being a strategic partner for our clients and for our community,” she said. “I am very fortunate to work for an organization that not only supports my efforts to become a better attorney but also a better Oklahoman.”

Ybarra is a litigation attorney who practices family law. She represents clients in all areas of domestic and family law matters including, divorce actions, custody matters, guardianships, prenuptial agreements, and paternity actions.
