Our aim is to amplify each beneficiary organizations’ needs and goals, and to help increase awareness, drive volunteer quality and quantity, assist in fundraising support, and improve capacity to deliver service to the community.

Our Paying it Forward beneficiary in October 2022 is Palomar, Oklahoma City’s Justice Center. #PIFOKC[divider line_type=”Full Width Line” line_thickness=”1″ divider_color=”default” animate=”yes” custom_height=”50″][image_with_animation image_url=”22454″ animation=”Fade In” hover_animation=”zoom” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”small_depth” image_loading=”default” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default”]October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), launched nationwide in Oct. 1987 as a way to bring individuals and organizations working on domestic violence issues together to raise awareness of domestic violence and amplify the voices of and for its victims. Domestic violence affects people regardless of age, wealth, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or nationality. It includes physical violence, emotionally abuse, and controlling behavior, which is often part of a larger, systematic pattern of dominance. To find out more about the devastating consequences of domestic violence and how to get immediate help, visit the Dept. of Justice’s PAGE dedicated to domestic violence awareness.

To help with solutions during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Phillips Murrah is proud to choose Palomar, Oklahoma City’s Justice Center as our October Paying it Forward beneficiary. Palomar offers victims and survivors of abusive relationships and domestic violence in Oklahoma City a kind-hearted home where clients and their children come first as they work through the healing process. Palomar’s collaborative, safety-focused, victim-centered, wrap-around services provide protection, hope and healing.
