Months of fundraising events culminated into a night of bowling for Phillips Murrah employees, families and friends.

The Firm celebrated its fundraising efforts on April 6 at Big Brothers Big Sisters’ annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake event hosted by Dust Bowl Lanes.

Director Byrona Maule spearheaded the campaign, raising more than $4,000.

“It costs between $1,500 and $1,800 to make and support a match for a year. Through Phillips Murrah’s participation in Bowl For Kids’ Sake, the single largest fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma, we hope to raise enough money to support three matches for a year.”

The Firm hosts a series of events and raffle drawings to garner support for the campaign and raise money to help the organization’s cause.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oklahoma provides one-to-one mentoring for children facing adversity.  Typically these children are growing up in either single- or no-parent households,” said Maule, who has lent her support for the organization for more than 25 years. “In Oklahoma, almost 100,000 children are growing up with one or both of their parents incarcerated at some time during their childhood. One of BBBS’ focuses is mentoring to these children.  This type of one-to-one mentoring can break the generational cycle of incarceration, and change risky behavior of these children, such as early parenting and dropping out of school. “
